Former Apprentice Jake Richardson Shortlisted for Young Professional of the Year Award 2021
We’re delighted to announce that Jake Richardson of Softext Ltd has been shortlisted for the prestigious Young Professional of the Year Award in the Sutton Coldfield, Lichfield & Tamworth and Cannock Chase Annual Awards Celebration 2021. Jake will go head-to-head against four other nominees from the region, with the winner announced on Thursday 28th January 2021.
Sponsored by Amazon, the new STLC digital awards ceremony will recognise the remarkable achievements of both businesses and young professionals across the four areas. Designed to celebrate the best in local business, the awards are based on achievements from the past 12 months.
Although 2020 has been a challenging year for all of us, Jake has continued to grow as a professional and develop his career in IT and software support. Jake started his apprenticeship with Softext in 2017 aged just 16, pursuing an interest in IT and computer systems inspired by his father.
Since then, Jake has grown with the company and has become an integral member of the team. After the successful completion of his apprenticeship, Jake was offered a full-time position with Softext where he became a fully-trained Software Support Technician.
During 2020 Jake was instrumental in helping many of our customers move to home-working when coronavirus and the subsequent lockdown struck. Using his expertise and knowledge he was able to provide recommendations that kept their businesses secure and operational. Throughout his time with Softext, Jake has become well-known and respected by many of our customers – a quick glance at our Trustpilot reviews will show you just how much he is appreciated.
Speaking of the nomination Jake said:
“Just being nominated for this award and being recognised for the hard work I’ve put into my career since finishing my apprenticeship means so much. I was shocked to see I’d been shortlisted and can’t wait for the ceremony to find out if I’ve won. This has been a great way to finish a tough year!”
