Working from Home: Tech and Tools to Keep Your Business Running

With more business moving to home working to combat the effects of the COVID-19 outbreak, we’ve listed some of the ways your team can continue working and minimise disruption to your business.

Keep up with your accounts while home working using Sage Drive

Remote access for Sage 50cloud Accounts products, Sage Drive allows you to keep up with your accounting tasks even whilst out of the office. Sage Drive gives you live access to Sage 50cloud accounting data as long as you have a working internet connection.

With Sage Drive you can continue to use all the functions and features of your Sage accounting software including;

  • Creating professional invoices, quotes, and statements.
  • Managing suppliers and customers with the ability to see any monies outstanding and pay suppliers on time.
  • Quickly analyse your business accounts with profit and loss reports.
  • Keep on top of your VAT returns with the Making Tax Digital module.
  • Give multiple users access to your accounting data and see any changes made in real time.
  • Automatically back-up your data to keep it safe and secure.

Keep customer communication flowing with Act! remote databases

Allow your employees to work from home by setting up remote access to your Act! database. You’ll be able to schedule tasks and activities, and keep customer contact records up to date, giving your team the tools they need to work remotely.

Use automation to cope with staff shortages

If you are worried that your business will suffer because of staff shortages due to sickness, its time to look at how automation can help fill in the gaps. Act! Growth Suite offers a range of automation tools designed to help your business provide uninterrupted customer service and communication.

Use the landing page forms to collect customer enquiries and automatically map the data into your CRM system. This data can then be used to trigger email marketing campaigns to help you communicate with your customers as soon as they interact with your business. The email campaigns can be scheduled to carry on for as long as you’d like, offering a way to keep in continual contact with your customers.

Keep in touch with your team

There are loads of programs out there designed to help you & your team keep in touch while working from home. Communication tools like Microsoft Teams enable you to chat with your colleagues using the instant messenger, phone and video call features, as well as sharing and collaborating on documents.

There are also tools to help you schedule tasks like keeping your social media pages active, such as Hootsuite and Buffer. With these platforms you can schedule up to a month’s worth of content (even more on the paid versions) to keep your pages running in the event of staff shortages.

We’re here to help you get your business ready for home working, get in touch for help with setting up Sage Drive or remote access to your Act! database.
