Is your Sage software compliant with Making Tax Digital? In April 2019, HMRC launched MTD – its digital tax initiative. Under the new MTD laws, businesses with a taxable turnover above the VAT threshold of £85,000 are required to file their VAT returns electronically using accounting software. These businesses are also obligated to keep digital records of their transactions for each VAT period.

Manual submissions via the HMRC gateway for VAT are no longer accepted for most businesses making an MTD bridging tool essential for most Sage 50 Accounts users.

This bridging tool is available whether you’re using and old or recent version of Sage Instant or Sage 50 Perpetual versions and sold as a 12-month Licence. If you are using Sage 50cloud Accounts you are able to submit your returns inside of Sage and won’t need a 3rd party tool.

How does it Work?
It will take your VAT return generated from Sage in CSV format which you upload to the bridging tool and submit direct to HMRC.
